3 Runners today at Nottingham, Lingfield and Ascot

An exciting day ahead as we have three runners. MAYGOLD heads to Nottingham where she makes her seasonal debut in the 2.20pm over 5f. MOLLS MEMORY makes the trip to Ascot in the 5.10pm Handicap over 6f and CAP FRANCAIS lines up in the 2.30pm Derby Trial (Listed) at Lingfield. See below for Ed's thoughts:

Molls Memory is I think in the form of her life and I’m really excited about her race tomorrow at Ascot . The ground will be ideal for her and Liam obviously knows her very well so hopefully she can finally get her head in front. There are obviously quite a few runners and she is drawn 16, so on the near side, and only time will tell whether or not that is a good drawn or not. I will ask Liam to ride her with a bit of patience and creep in to the race as that is the best way to ride Ascot these days.

Maygold looks a picture of health and I think has done well through the winter. She has been very fresh lately and not the easiest to train, but is ready for a run so hopefully she can go and pick up where she left off from last year. I’ve no doubt she will improve a great deal for her first run but I think she is fit enough to do herself justice and hopefully Luke Morris can get a good tune out of her.

Cap Francais is in great form and I couldn’t be happier with how his preparation has gone in to this race. I think the trip, track and ground will all be well within him and I’m really looking forward to seeing him back on the track after such an encouraging return to action at Epsom. We are taking measures to ensure that he behaves better in the preliminaries which will no doubt have a positive impact on his performance, so lets hope he can go and prove himself a real Derby candidate. Either way we will learn something and I certainly don’t think there will be any excuses from his well-being point of view.

The race looks tough which is good, as at one stage it might cut up in to a very bad trial which will not be very informative. I think if he wins this he will really announce himself as a top class horse which is what we’re very much hoping for.

A big thanks to our travelling team Gary, Jess, Monika, Kalu, Kishore and Papa who are on the road today! Fingers crossed for a succesful day! Pictured below is the good looking son of Frankel, Cap Francais.
