8 Saturday runners in three countries
We have a very exciting weekend with 8 runners in three different countries.
Stormy Antarctic heads to Ayr today for a mile and a quarter Listed race. He is very fresh and well in himself at home and I think this is a great opportunity for him to try and get back to winning ways.
Poetic Union heads to Ayr today for the Firth Of Clyde, a Group 3 over 6 furlongs. It looks a good renewal of the race but I am hoping that she can run well with PJ McDonald on board. She is a very smart filly in my opinion and is taking her racing well.
Popmaster takes his chance in the Ayr Gold Cup. He was disappointing in the race last year but has been in great form this season. He will be ridden by George Downing and fingers crossed the race pans out in his favour and he can run well. Mountain Peak runs in the Group 3 today, the ground is lovely and it will be interesting to see how he gets on in this company.
Closer to home at Newbury, Bauhinia Rhapsody is ready to make his debut and is a horse that I like. He has got a very good attitude and has done everything well so far. He is a big horse and still very much a frame but he is ready to learn more and I am thrilled to have Tom Marquand to ride. It is a typically competitive Newbury Novice with some decent form with those with experience and some well bred newcomers in opposition but I am hoping he runs a race full of promise.
Mountain Peak runs in the Group 3 today, the ground is lovely and it will be interesting to see how he gets on in this company.
This looks a good spot for King Of Jungle at Newbury and hopefully the track will suit him. Hopefully the visor will have a positive effect replacing the blinkers.
Scenic is looking very well. This will be a typically warm Newmarket Novice but it is a good place for her to start and I am hoping that she runs a race full of promise. She has got a good attitude and there is a lot to like about her so fingers crossed she runs well.
Best of luck to all connections this weekend.
