A busy Friday with 5 runners

Today we have two runners at Ayr. They made the trip up yesterday and have settled in well. Union Court lines up in the 2yo Harry Rosebery Listed over 5f at 2.35pm and she seems in great form. She is taking her racing very well and I think this is a good opportunity for her. If she produces her best I think she can be very competitive.

Tenaya Canyon also travelled very well up to Ayr yesterday and I am looking forward to seeing her run today in the Listed Scottish Sprint for fillies at 3.10pm. It wont won’t be easy in such a big field however I think it is a winnable race and if she puts her best foot forward she should be bang there over a trip which I think will be ideal for her.

Closer to home at Newbury today, Dark Trooper lines up in the 1.43pm Maiden. The ground is going to be more suitable for him today and he is in really good order. He is improving and I expect him to continue to do so. It is a warm race and he is going to need to be a good horse to win.

I am looking forward to seeing Peony run at Newbury today with Tom on board in the 2.18pm and it is obviously just 15 days after her debut, however she looks great and has been feeling well in herself at home. The Godolphin horse is a non runner and she has an un-penalised winner to take on but I think she will run well and we will see where we are with her today.

Piffle has obviously not found her best this year, she steps down in class at Kempton this evening in the 7.45pm. George Downing knows her well so fingers crossed she behaves and gets back to winning ways.
