An exciting day ahead in Dubai

An exciting day ahead as we have two runners in Dubai this afternoon. Desert Doctor and Assimilation both travelled over very well just after Christmas and have been in the capable hands of our travelling head lad Gary who has been very happy with them. These are our first runners in Dubai since Riggins in 2011 and it is a fairly large gamble as they are both making their dirt debuts! Desert Doctor runs in the 3yo+ Handicap over 6f under Luke Morris at 3.05pm (UK time) and will be ridden by Luke Morris who knows him well. Assimilation was unlucky not to get into his race originally, but being first reserve he managed to sneak in yesterday so he will head to post in the 4.50pm (UK time) Handicap over 1 mile under Antonio Fresu.

Back in the UK, Bold Suitor has made the trip up to Newcastle with Jess and Westy for the 5pm Handicap over 7f. He is in great form and has been pleasing me at home. There are horses with some good form in the race, but he should be up there with them and I’d be disappointed if he didn’t run a big race today.

Fingers crossed for a succesful day and best of luck to all owners and connections. Pictured below is Assimilation enjoying a pick of grass out in Dubai yesterday.
