Three runners today at York & Newmarket
We have got three runners today between York & Newmarket. Triggered gets us underway at York in the Class 3 nursery over five and a half furlongs, he is drawn in 1 of 14 and will be ridden by Liam Keniry. He has won twice already this year and ran well when fourth in Listed company at Maisons-Laffitte last time out, appearing to not quite stay the six and a half furlongs on soft ground so the step back in trip today should be in his favour and we are hopeful of a good run.
Later on the card Iconic Knight runs in the Class 3 handicap over five furlongs, he is drawn in 15 of 20 and will be ridden by Antonio Fresu. He too has won twice this year and was unlucky not to make it three last time out at Goodwood when just failing to get up on the line. This looks extremely competitive dropping back down in trip again but he's versatile in terms of trip and ground and hopefully he will run well once again.
Sunday Star (pictured) runs at Newmarket in the Group 3 Oh So Sharp Stakes over seven furlongs, she is drawn in 5 of 8 and will be ridden by Gerald Mosse. She broke her maiden in good style over this course and distance thirteen days ago and deserves to take her chance in Stakes company. It looks a tough race as you would expect with a lot of fillies that "could be anything" but we hope that she can mix it with them and be involved at the finish.
