Today's runners at Newbury, Ayr & Newcastle
A busy day today starting with four runners at Newbury. Came From The Dark (pictured below) runs in the first division of the six furlong maiden, he is drawn in stall 1 of 13 and will be ridden by Silvestre De Sousa. He made a pleasing debut at Windsor 18 days ago, he has come on for that run and will hopefully run a big race as we think he is a nice horse in the making.
Duckett's Grove runs in the Haynes, Hanson & Clark Conditions Stakes over a mile, he is drawn 4 of 7 and will also be ridden by Silvestre De Sousa. He is new to the stable and has not been in for very long but from what we have seen of him he looks a nice horse. We are hoping he runs well in what looks a strong renewal of the race we won with Stormy Antarctic in 2015 for the same owner Mr Siu.
Ultimate Avenue runs in the Listed Dubai Duty Free Cup Stakes over seven furlongs, he is drawn in stall 8 of 8 and will be ridden by Richard Kingscote for the first time. He is a frustrating horse but a very talented one, if he puts his best foot forward he can be very competitive at this level.
Our final runner at Newbury is Armed who runs in the last race on the card, a Class 4 handicap over ten furlongs, he is drawn in 13 of 16 and will be ridden by William Buick. He is yet to win but is more than capable of doing so and can hopefully get off the mark in what looks a competitive race although he has a bad draw.
Elsewhere we have sent Glorious Charmer to Ayr where the ground is likely to be extremely testing, however we have always felt that he will enjoy these conditions especially having run so well on debut when he badly needed the race. He runs today in the Class 2 nursery over six furlongs, he is drawn in 8 of 11 and will be ridden by David Egan. Stepping back up in trip he should go very close if racing is on.
Soumei has had a frustrating career so far and heads to Newcastle for only his third start this evening. He runs in the Class 5 novice over five furlongs, he is drawn 6 of 6 and will be ridden by Jamie Spencer. He is a talented horse and should hopefully win again after impressing on only his second start at Brighton back in May.
